Dr. Harrison helps a lot of people from the Decatur community that are hurt at work. According to the National Safety Council, the most common kind of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which involves trauma to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace injuries.
The most common type of MSD is a strain, which is trauma to a muscle or tendon. Strains are caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by engaging in repetitive movements. Other typical MSDs are carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back pain.
These injuries can be stopped by using proper lifting techniques, taking several breaks and using ergonomic devices. Employers can also help put a stop to injuries by providing their employees educational materials on putting a stop to these injuries.
Back issues and injuries are a common problem that Dr. Harrison sees in our #Ciyt# office and we also work with men and women who have shoulder or neck discomfort.
If you have sustained a work injury or accident and live in the Decatur region, give Dr. Harrison a call and make an appointment today. We will help you to create a treatment plan that will help you recover and do our best to get you back on the job as quickly as we can!
